Jello Watermelon

Intro:

Here is a great fun activity to do in the summer that will have all the kids wanting more watermelon!  You’ll get a small sized watermelon, and hollow it out.  After you’ve hollowed it out you’ll make a jello mixture and poor it into the melon.  Following a good refrigeration, you can cut the watermelon into slices and have delicious ‘watermelon jello’ treats!  Surprise your kids on April Fool’s Day with this fun activity.  If you can pick a watermelon with a slightly flat side, it will help it balance a little easier in while setting up in your fridge.

Recipe: Make the ‘jello jigglers’ recipe

  • 2.5 cups boiling water
  • 4 3oz packages of jello

Step 1: Get all the necessary items:

  • Watermelon
  • Jello (We used watermelon flavored)
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Measuring Cup

Step 2: Hollow out the watermelon

Step 3: Make jello mixture and pour into hollowed out watermelon

Step 4: Refrigerate for 3-4 hours until jello is well hardened
